The Overview

Threadly is a full-stack application designed to enhance Slack workflows by allowing users to schedule messages for future delivery. It solves the limitation of immediate-only communication by providing a clean interface to compose, schedule, and manage messages across multiple channels.

System Architecture

• OAuth Flow: The app securely exchanges authorization codes for access/refresh tokens, which are encrypted and stored via a custom security service.
• Background Scheduler: A server-side process checks for pending messages at regular intervals. When a scheduled time arrives, it retrieves the decrypted tokens and dispatches the message via the Slack API.
